Ever since my touch table project of last semester, I have been looking forward to creating new projects of the sort that use electronics and programming to create new tangible experiences. I was therefore really excited to read more about Arduino and about physical computing’s hits and misses. After reading the documents, I’ve come to the conclusion that the programming part of Arduino will be “simple” enough because of my background with Processing and other programming languages, while the tangible electronic part, since it is completely novel to me, will be more challenging. I am eager to learn, thought, and am excited by the new oppertunities this will open up for me.
As for the class website we had to make, I had already created during the week a new blog with xHTML, CSS, Javascript, Wordpress and PHP that would serve all of my school needs. Unfortunately, since we can’t use Wordpress on the school server, and this class requires the site to be hosted on that server, I had to make a few modifications to the site. No issues there, thought, as you can still access the other parts of the site from the sidebar which hold all documentation for current as well as previous projects of mine.
